Malioboro Street

Jalan Malioboro (Malioboro Street) is a major shopping street in Yogyakarta, Indonesia; the name is also used more generally for the neighborhood around the street. It runs north from the Yogyakarta kraton (palace) towards the roads that lead to either Surakarta to the east, or Magelang to the north, as well as Mount Merapi. This is in itself is significant to many of the local population, the north south orientation between the palace and the volcano being of importance.

Galunggung Mountain

Recorded Galunggung had erupted in 1882. Early signs known eruption in July 1822, in which the water becomes murky and muddy. Results of the crater showed that the hot water is murky and sometimes appeared a column of smoke from the crater. Then on October 8 s.d. October 12, the eruption of reddish sand produces rain very hot, fine ash, hot clouds and lava. Lava flow moving toward the southeast following the river flows. This 4011 eruption killed 114 people and destroyed villages, with damage to the land to the east and south as far as 40 km from the top of the mountain. Kintamani

In the mountains around Kintamani, there is Mount Batur with a deep crater lake and hot springs are turbulent. The cool mountain air with views in all directions, as beautiful with the existence of several important temples, which have made Kintamani become one of the places that do not forgotten the Bali tourist agenda.

Singkarak & Maninjau Lake

Singkarak Lake was in two regencies in West Sumatra,  Solok and Tanah Datar. With an area of 107.8 km ² lake is the largest lake on the island of Sumatra . The lake is also used for power generation. Fish bilih (Mystacoleucus padangensis) is a species of fish are expected to only live in this lake, and became one of typical foods.

Maninjau Lake is a lake in the district of Tanjung Raya, Agam regency, West Sumatra province, Indonesia. The lake is located about 140 kilometers north of Padang, West Sumatra’s capital, 36 kilometers from Bukittinggi, 27 kilometers from Lubuk Basung, Agam regency capital.Maninjau which is a volcanic lake is located at an altitude of 461.50 meters above sea level. Borobudur Temple

NAME OF BOROBUDUR

Many theories attempt to explain the name of this temple. One of them states that the name of this possibility derived from the word Sambharabhudhara, which means “mountain” (bhudara) where the slopes are located terraces. In addition there are several etymologies other people. Suppose borobudur word comes from saying “the Buddha” is due to shift sound to be borobudur. Another explanation is that the name originated of the two words “coal” and “beduhur”. Said coal is said to comes from the monastery, while there is also an explanation Another where coal comes from the Sanskrit means temple or monastery complex and beduhur means is “high”, or to remind the Balinese language means “on top”. So the intention is a monastery or dormitory in the high ground.
